Bean to Bar Essentials

Curious about how to make your own chocolate from scratch? This hands-on Bean to Bar Essentials class introduces you to the fascinating world of craft chocolate making.

Begin by learning how to taste chocolate properly and appreciate the different flavours and nuances found in bean-to-bar craft chocolate. Explore the history of chocolate, growing regions and conditions, as well as the essential equipment and ingredients used in small-batch production.

You will work through the complete process from bean selection to making and packaging chocolate. Create both milk and dark chocolate, measure micron (particle size) for optimal texture, and learn professional tempering techniques including mould preparation and care to achieve a perfectly shiny finish.

Take home a selection of the chocolate you make in class. A light lunch is provided on the second day, and upon completion you will receive a digital certificate of attendance.
